The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is a one of the most beautiful coastal trails in the nation; the trail gently winds along the coast eleven miles from downtown to the chalet at Kincaid Park and is by far Anchorage's most popular trail. Leave the bustling city behind, and explore a local treasure that tells a long tale of natural and human history.
Skirt the fault line of the '64 quake, stroll through scented forests, look for moose, and take in sweeping vistas where you can spot beluga whales and North America's highest peak, Mount McKinley also known as Denali all in a single view. We've highlighted the first five miles of the trail for you from the modern skyline of downtown to the open skies of Point Woronzof.

Bicycle Rentals: Pablo's Bicycle Rentals
We created anchoragecoastaltrail.com in 2012 as a public service, in response to many inquiries we received at Pablo’s Bicycle Rentals from folks around the country interested in visiting Anchorage. We have maintained it ever since, and hope you find it useful and enjoyable. Feel free to contact us about anything you find that should be updated, or that might be useful to add. This site is not affiliated with the Municipality of Anchorage, or with any other governmental agency, business, non-profit organization, or other third party. And while you enjoy the beautiful scenery and natural environment of the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and other parts of our bike trail system, be respectful of this urban wilderness. Traffic and trail conditions are not the only hazards. Venturing out on the tidal flats is very dangerous, and encounters with moose, bear, or other wildlife can be life-threatening, so be smart and stay safe while you are having the time of your life.
